Arts In Bloom! On Mother's Day, Sunday, May 11, 2008, the sixth annual Arts in Bloom festival will be held at the Sparks Marina Park from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The event benefits the Northern Nevada Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Treat mom to a special day under the sun, take home some of the region's finest assortment of artwork, enjoy fine food and popular entertainment, and participate in a special celebrity painted plate auction featuring the works of well-known figures. Some previous year's participants were Bill Cosby, Bonnie Raitt and Bonnie Tempesta, The Today Show’s Ann Curry, Donald Trump, Mickey Rooney, World Cup soccer hero Brandi Chastain, Pickles Cartoonist Brian Crane, and Interntationl Pop Artist Andre Miripolsky. All proceeds from the auction will be contributed to the Komen for the Cure Foundation of Northern Nevada. |
