It’s an early start for the 18th annual blue butt ride. We don’t know where we are going yet so there is always an anticipation of what to bring and how to dress. Will we be climbing through mountains all day or riding through the desert? We never know until the route instructions are handed out at 6:45 am.

Well I finally did it. After almost 2 decades in Reno Nevada I finally stopped in last week and tried the Famous Awful-Awful burger from The Nugget. I didn't even know about this joint until I saw Dave Attell visit The Nugget on the Comedy Central Insomniac Show.
I was working downtown today so I decided to take the short walk from the Cal Neva over to The Nugget. It's a small South Virginia Street Casino across from Harrahs Reno. I made my way to the back (about 35 steps) to where the kitchen was and pulled up to a seat at the lunch counter.
It wasn't crowded today so I was able to place my order right away. Awful Awful burger, basket of fries and a coke. I think it was $7 and change after tax. While I was waiting I talked with a few of the other people at the counter already eating. They were enjoying themselves and enjoying the food....

A huge crowd of people showed up tonight to countdown the coming of the New Year. We got there about 8 o’clock because we wanted to make sure we had good parking and get dinner. We ate dinner at Cal Neva since that is where we were meeting friends. It was a great time for a beer and friends.

We got invited to experience Reno's first CANFEST event on October 23rd, 2009. It is known as the Reno International Canned Beer Festival. I love that Reno is known for all the new and exciting events that start here. CANFEST in my opinion will grow to eventually rival the famous Rib Cookoff or the Italian Festival. This event has all the makings of a great international event.

The event was sponsored by Buckbean Brewing Company along with The Nature Conservancy and Great Basin Bird Observatory. There was a lot of emphasis on the Green properties of canned beer as opposed to other methods of distribution. ECORENO was there with a booth as well.
There was a total of 22 diffrent brewers represented at the event and each participant was given a 4 ounce tasting glass to walk the event with. You got to basically taste, try and drink as much...

We visited the Great Italian Festival on Sunday October 10th. We met friends downtown for lunch ans to checkout the activites. If you like Italian food as much as we do you have to make it to the Great Italian Festival in Downtown Reno.
The event was broke out into a couple sections. You could find the farmers market in the south section of town by the music, and the food and drink was in another section. We grabbed ourselves a beer and walked the event. We were hungry for lunch but not ready to get into any lines so we started with some fried calamari from one of the vendors. We also bought some cheesy french toast from another. Both were reasonably priced.
People were playing bocce ball near the farmers market. A giant game deck was built onsite to play on. It was not active,...

We've often drove by and never stopped in. Well tonight we stopped in. We have been missing out for years. We had some of the most incredible food, awesome service & the greatest atmosphere ever.
Our evening started with a cold glass of Shock Top beer, For our appetizer we had a plate of smoked trout, cream cheese, toasted bread, red onions & capers. Incredible. Main courses were Rib Eye steak with deep fried baked potatoe, Baby back ribs with Au Gratin potatoes & parmesean tomatoes. I dont think I have ever had a steak taste so great. The parmesean tomatoes were awesome! The service, well our server was Kia and she was great. We felt right at home and had one of the most wonderful dinners ever.
We will definately be back! I can't recommend Ruby River Steakhouse enough. If your looking for great food, wonderful service & a terrific atmosphere at a great price then Ruby River Steakhouse is the place to go.

Right now we have some pairs of tickets to UNR home games and a Silver Legacy package that's coming together and Arrowcreek Golf Passes for starters, but we're more than just a Reno Events website. We're Nationwide so let's act like it.
We're offering our users all over California, Nevada and beyond to offer up free passes to some of their events so we can give them out as gifts to our events fans. If you would like us to talk more about your event and maybe even get an event review posted on gonnahappen.com then send us some free passes to your events.

Today was a busy day. It's Friday; not the busiest day of the Rally by far, but we seemed to be all over the place. We started at Sierra Gold this morning for a great breakfast and some billards to get us rolling. We went from there to Reno Harley and they were already hopping. It's like they had their own rally going. Booths, Rides, Bike techs, Bands and a mechanical Bull to name some of it all.

Well Bill put some new brake pads on his Bike and then we were off to Downtown Reno. We have favorite parking spots so we headed there. It was already getting hot as we headed downtown.
