Habatat Now Presents Not Grandma’s Glass 2021 – June’s Presentation Chad Fonfara. #NGG

Watch April’s Not Grandma’s Glass presentation by artist Chad Fonfara. This year-long exhibition is produced by Habatat Michigan. Habatat has exhibited the artist’s work in the gallery in the past and I am eager to for you to watch Fonfara’s presentation. His work is powerful and discusses the concept of nature in its truest form. His work reminds me so much of still life paintings from the Dutch golden age that were hyper realistic. Each of Fonfara’s sculptures are made from glass and bronze and feature incredible detail. Each sculpture he creates shares an important message.

Chad Fonfara’s sculptures are unfolded as both an investigation into the communicative abilities of form and as an examination of how interpretations of societal events are tailored to buttress personal, political, or religious ideologies. His work originates from a place of confinement, reticence, prejudice, cowardice, ironies, and doublespeak. It is an attempt to describe in imagery that which is essentially ineffable.
