Once Upon a Time in the World of Comic Books

Once upon a time, I (Aaron Beebe) embarked on a unique adventure that blurred the lines between reality and the fantastical world of comic books. As a fervent supporter of the arts and an avid comic book enthusiast, I had the incredible opportunity to fund the dreams of two aspiring comic book writers. In a twist of fate, they immortalized me as a character in their stories—albeit with a rather grim fate.

One of these stories was a gory spectacle, where my character met an untimely and gruesome end. The other, a creation by my friend Marisol, was a testament to our shared passion for storytelling and creativity. Both writers saw their dreams of becoming comic book creators come true, and through their pages, I became a superhero with special powers, helping others to realize their dreams.

However, the path to making Gonna Happen a reality has not been without its struggles. The world of comics and entertainment is filled with challenges, from financial constraints to the relentless pursuit of creativity. Many aspiring creators face similar obstacles, struggling to find the resources and recognition they need to bring their visions to life.

My love for collecting began with my admiration for Steve Aoki. I met Steve before he was famous, during his rise in the entertainment industry. His passion and drive inspired me to start my own collection, which now includes various collectibles from my favorite comics and events. I’ve also had the pleasure of meeting some of the original Power Rangers, like the Red Ranger, at comic events, and even know one of the producers of the TV show “Supernatural.”

My journey took me to many small comic expos in cities like Sacramento and Eugene, where I soaked up the vibrant culture and creativity. Despite these amazing experiences, I have yet to attend the ultimate gathering of comic enthusiasts—Comic-Con. This event has always been a dream for me, and now, as a writer, I have the chance to document my own life and stories while helping others create their own dreams through Gonna Happen.

I previously applied for a press pass to Comic-Con but was not approved. With 16 years of experience in the entertainment industry, I hold onto the hope that this dream will one day become a reality for me and for the many creative minds I support. My sister and friends, who have attended Comic-Con for over a decade, inspire me with their passion and dedication. Perhaps in the coming years, I will join them and continue to nurture the dreams of comic creators.

Attached to this story is a photo of my comic book character, a symbol of my journey in the world of comics. It’s a reminder that with perseverance and support, dreams do come true.
