February 19, 2025 – Finnish-German alternative metal outfit Rootbrain has released Unawares, the second single from their forthcoming EP Mothertomb, set for release on March 5th via Corpsepaint Records. Following their striking rendition of Garbage’s #1 Crush, Unawares delves deeper into the band’s signature fusion of brooding melodies, crushing riffs, and dynamic intensity. With Mothertomb, Rootbrain continues to solidify its presence in the alternative metal scene.

Rootbrain is a Finnish-German alternative metal band blending elements of blackened grunge, groove, and doom-infused melodies. Featuring members of Triptykon, Profane Omen, and Kuolemanlaakso, the band has carved out a distinct sound that bridges the intensity of extreme metal with haunting melodic sensibilities. Their debut album Breakwater (2023) established them as a formidable presence, and Mothertomb marks the next chapter in their evolving sound.
Rootbrain is currently working on their second full-length album, slated for recording in 2025.
